Geja Oostingh

Geja Oostingh is passionate about advancing biomedical science through research, teaching, and leadership. As a specialist in cell biology and immunology, she explores why some individuals respond to certain substances while others do not—a question that has driven over 60 peer-reviewed publications and a diverse range of research projects. Alongside her research, she is deeply committed to teaching immunology, cell biology, scientific methodology, and internationalization, mentoring numerous Bachelor, Master, and PhD students.

Since taking on leadership roles at the University of Applied Sciences, Salzburg, Geja Oostingh has led a health sciences team of nearly 100 members, coordinating researchers, educators, and administrative staff. Through a combination of clear communication, diplomacy, and a touch of humor, she ensures the department operates efficiently, collaboratively, and with a shared sense of purpose.
