Ionuț Nistor is a nephrologist and academic leader passionate about combining clinical excellence with healthcare innovation. As Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Coordinator of the MAVIS Technology Transfer Center at “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, he has guided numerous students, PhD candidates, and young researchers in developing both academic and applied healthcare projects. With over 100 ISI-indexed publications and international recognition as Vice-President of Cochrane Romania, he brings expertise in evidence-based medicine, biostatistics, and medical informatics.
Dr. Nistor has extensive experience mentoring in healthcare innovation initiatives, including the Health Innovation Zone, the Nefro Hackathon, and the NextHealth MAVIS Hackathon 2025. He supports students and start-up teams in integrating clinical insights and scientific evidence into patient-centered digital health solutions.
Through the DigiCare Innovation Mentoring Program, Dr. Nistor aims to help young innovators design impactful, evidence-based solutions that address real medical needs, promoting sustainable transformation in healthcare systems and patient care.
